The day

What you'll work on.

We'll make the lighting choices visible and practical. You'll see a setup built, then work with it yourself and make images for your portfolio.

  1. Use direction, intensity and quality of light to change the mood of an image.
  2. Experiment with soft and hard light, three-point lighting and editorial setups.
  3. Work with strobes, softboxes and reflectors, with ideas for simpler alternatives.
  4. Photograph a model and pick up editing tips that support the finished look.
Who it's for

For curious photographers.

This day is for portrait and fashion photographers, keen hobbyists and content creators who want to make more distinctive images. You don't need previous fashion lighting experience. The small group gives everyone time to shoot and ask questions.

What to bring

Just your camera.

Bring a DSLR or mirrorless camera with manual controls and a notebook if that helps you remember the setups. Lighting equipment and a model are provided.
